Tuesday Things

Is anyone besides me still watching Tool Academy? I was unsure about this season, but after Sunday night's episode, I have renewed my liking for the Academy. Thankfully, Jennavecia FINALLY went home. And her mom is a "madam"? I thought you arent really supposed to admit to that because it is a crime? Either way, Jennavecia is DISGUSTING and by the end of the episode I was wondering if her boyfriend was a little "slow" if you know what I mean. Who would stay with a girl like that? Gross.

I am confused about what is actually going on with the new Fresh Meat (RR/RW Challenge) because I think they are doing like some other competition on the side with Wes and Kenny? Either way, I do know that the new Fresh Meat Challenge starts sometime in April and I cannot wait!!

Is it STILL raining at your house like it is at mine? Perfect day to come home, snuggle on the couch, and turn on my DVR... next up after Kell on Earth? Jerseylicious. I just HAD to watch at least one episode!

LOST TONIGHT!!!!

Google and Wiki

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to google and wiki stuff if I dont know what it is, or if I want to know what something was, or if I want to remember something that I should already know, or even if I want to learn something new that I should have already learned. Google and Wikipedia search histories can tell so much about someone.

You can definitely tell what has consumed me lately by reading my recent google/wiki search history:
Boston apartments
How to afford boston apartments
Can I afford living in boston
cost of living calculator
ghetto apartments in boston
I'm doomed

That last search was quite hilarious and was searched after hours and hours of online and foot-searching was done only to wonder if it is even possible to afford ANYTHING...mice infested? Maybe... It is always sad when the only amenity listed on the places that we can afford is "De-leaded." WTF?! I dont even know what that means! Why would it have to be de-leaded? What is leaded???

(BTW, if you google "I'm Doomed" it basically pulls up all of this info about the computer game "Doom")

On a happier note, The Marriage Ref was hilarious this week so I was glad I watched. It featured a random camera shot of a couple's cat using the toilet by himself. Hilarious.

On a sad note, I have finally decided to let Gossip Girl go. Even Chace Crawford cant entice me to keep watching it each week. We had a good run, GG. I am so over it.

Ricardo and Isabella

I cant even put in to words how awesome Lost was this week. Everyone had always wanted to know how Richard came to be and now we know. So, it is safe to say that they arent LITERALLY talking about hell, right? That is just figurative. And actually, I feel like both Jacob and the man in the black are jerks who just manipulate everyone for their own gain. I dont know who to trust! Only 7 more episodes until the 2 hour finale...but I dont want to talk about that. I dont want to think about life without Lost right now. I had a dream about Jack the other night (it was ah-mazing!) and then just last night I dreamt that Charles Widmore died---in real life, as in, Caleb Nichol from The OC, the real actor. Or did that really happen? I dont even know. I guess I should google it.

Why did they not get rid of Mike on Biggest Loser???!!! The blue team had the perfect opportunity to pay him back for dividing the teams up like he did a few weeks ago (I now cannot STAND MIKE!!!). I love love love Sam and Koli, and I was so excited and literally jumped up and down in my living room when Koli won the 26.2 mile bike ride! Lance going home surprised me (because I thought for sure they would vote off Mike!), but Lance and his wife were getting on my nerves this week...by CHEATING and eating those cupcakes and giving like 10 of them to Sam! How unfair.

Weekend Watch

I finally caught up with this week's Gossip Girl. Why is Chace Crawford so amazing? Love him! All of those rich weird political people they bring in though, like Jenny's new friend the drug dealer, are forgetful.

Speaking of the Upper East side, that was the outfit that went home on Project Runway this week (they had to come up with clothing to represent certain NYC neighborhoods). And I thought they totally deserved to lose...nothing about that coral shirt said Upper East Side (and I totally know, because I watch Gossip Girl, hello?!). What is with the Goth twins? Like or not like? I cant decide...

I did watch Jessica Simpson's new The Price of Beauty show on VH1. Wow. She does somehow seem a LOT less annoying than she was on Newlyweds, though. But overall, the show is just lacking. Jessica fake-cries a few times, and it seems a little awkward. Good thing her hair dresser is there alongside her, though!

Dont you just feel bad for Jermika (LOVE that name) on Tool Academy. They are the only couple who is married, and her husband was really a tool. I feel like this week he knew he may go home, so he tried to fake it. It didnt work, because he went home, but I feel bad that she is staying with him because he seems disinterested. I dont really agree completely with the lady who supposedly reads body language. I mean, if I know someone is watching my every move, I act weird anyway so I may look guilty or suspicious when I am really not!

Like, have you ever been in a store and you think someone is watching you for shoplifting? But you really arent, and then you feel like you start looking suspicious? So you steal anyway? hahaha Just kidding, you dont steal. You just act weird because you know they are watching you closely. I hope that isnt just me...

Real Housewives of NYC (yes I snuck and watched...AJ is working nights this week...I have TIME to spare): Why is Bethenny such a butt this season? She really is acting DIVA, and I am sad that she and Jill arent friends right now, because I liked their balance. Jill and LuAnn are an unlikely duo. I do think that Kelly is just a fame-whore and needs to leave. I do love that her little girl's name is Teddy, though.

Thursday night TV rewind:
Do you like Brita on Community? Sometimes she annoys me, but other times, I like her.
The Office once again made me a teeny bit bored. I am glad that Andy and Erin finally got together. They have been so awkward around each other and its hilarious!
30 Rock this week was a goodie...and I love that she was going to see Hot Tub Time Machine. Is it lame that I sort of want to see that movie just to see how bad it actually is??

I normally love Celebrity Fit Club, but as Joel McHale pointed out on The Soup this week, only one word in that title is true: Club. Bobby Brown and K-Fed? Puh-lease. Even I will pass on that.

I have sort of been catching Celebrity Sober House...again, the first 2 words of that title are completely irrelevant. The people this season are just terrible and totally not sober yet. And now, "Shifty" is coming back?

One show that you should be watching for some laughs:
Sons of Tucson on FOX. One guy who is being paid by 3 boys to act like their Dad (their real Dad is in jail). It is pretty light-hearted and a good Sunday night addition.

My First Protest (well, we were there)

So yesterday we woke up and decided to head down to DC for the day. We just couldnt waste the wonderful weather (70s again! Yay!) staying in Delaware. We didnt realize that our plans would include the Health Care Protest going on at the Capital...but, I mean, its always fun to be a part of a protest, right?

I do have to say, there were lots of crazies around there...and chanting. Chanting is weird, right? Even if you agree with what people are chanting, its scary. The signs were worth a few good laughs, and we even saw a guy dressed as Captain America...he was running to the front of the crowd really fast so we never got a pic.

After that we basked in the sunshine and went to our favorite monument to sit and people watch. It was a great day. I felt SO American!

Friday

There are no gas stations around here that do "penny per ounce" of fountain drink on Fridays. Sad.

I have found a new giant gas station cookie here that gives the Get-n-Go in SD a run for their money.

There are now 4 ChickfilAs within 7 miles of my house (one opened up in the mall food court! Holler!).

There is no Sonic or Qdoba...or SO WE THOUGHT. We had given up on our beloved Qdoba Mexican Grill that we frequented at least once a week in Sioux Falls. Last weekend we drove up to Wilmington (YUCK) to go out with some friends. While trying to find a parking space, we drove down a really ghetto street (but, really, it is rare to find anywhere in Wilmington that ISNT in the ghetto). I was scared, until I looked to my left and saw it. A freaking QDOBA!!!!!!! We would have left our friends high and dry, but it was closed. So we now have plans to go back up there and eat to our hearts content.

SOUTHLAND is back...but now on TNT. I totally forgot to mention this show on Tuesday nights. Ryan from The OC is still on there, and it really is a good cop show. Guess who is also now on it? Sucre from Prison Break! hahaha Watch this show...its good.

DONT WATCH the new show Parenthood. I was really excited about this show because I used to LOVE the movie Parenthood with Steve Martin ("do you feel like you need to throw up?" "OKAY" blah!). I feel like the previews somehow led me to believe that this show was going to be sort of like the movie (SPOILER: it ISNT). It was bad. Like, Brothers and Sisters wannabe drama BAD. Not funny at all. Not even a comedy! Dont bother with this one.

What about The Marriage Ref? I watched the first episode, and then we remembered to DVR last night. The first episode was actually pretty entertaining. The lady who wouldnt let her husband use the dining room because it could only be used on Thanksgiving? That was hilarious! I need to watch another episode to see if it really is still funny, or if it was just funny to me because AJ was working a 24 hour shift when I watched it alone at home with no other adult contact...

CLUB NUB is Back

Why?

I missed it. Sort of. Mainly, I didnt realize how it connected me to my friends and family. It really is a good way to let people know what you have been up to without having to call them or email them daily!

So, here we are...a year later (almost), a new location, a new job, a new Club Nub.

What has changed?

*Well, I watch SIGNIFICANTLY less loads of TV. Granted, I still watch more than you (Dont hate!).
*I have now learned how to "let shows go" and stop watching them when they are really lame.
*I work part-time---which is awesome, btw.
*AJ is a full-fledged working doctor, saving lives every day. Seriously, he shocks peoples hearts and pronounces people dead and stuff. But not for long...he is almost done with intern year and then he will be spending 100% of his time doing radiology (which also means no more shocking hearts or talking to patients).

Not much else is different. We are still awesome.

Examples of shows that have been "let go" from my viewership:
One Tree Hill
Celebrity Fit Club
24 (see explanation on Monday night post below)
Secret Life of the American Teen
Chuck (again, see Monday night post)
Grey's Anatomy (yall know I already loathed this show)
Private Practice

There are probably more that I just cant remember at the moment.

I am not sure exactly what I will post about besides my usual TV obsessions, but before I fully committed myself by clicking on "PUBLISH POST", I felt the need to do a little weekly run down of what we have been watching the last few months. So, please, take your time and read the posts below. Then we will start all over...

Thursday

Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, and 30 Rock.

I watch them all.

Does anyone else agree with me that The Office should quit before it gets really bad? This season has really been sub-par...

Project Runway: just not the same since it moved to Lifetime. I do like a few of the guy designers this season, though. The little one who looks like a Lost Boy...he is good.

I now need to fill you in on my Real Housewives drama. I have semi-stopped watching. Why? Well, they are just so ridiculous to think that people really CARE about their lives...I mean, I watch their show, but I really dont feel like they are celebrities or anything. Does that make sense? They are so self-obsessed and money-hungry that it is sickening. I really want to stop watching, so they will stop feeling like people actually CARE, and I have really TRIED...but sometimes I slip up. Especially since the new season of RH-NYC started last week!

So, after I watched, I went and bought a homeless guy a chickfila sandwich to make myself feel better. It worked.

Wednesday

If you havent been watching ABC's new Wednesday night Comedy line-up, you truly have been missing out. Mainly on Modern Family. It is seriously such a cute show that will make you laugh out loud. The Dad is hilarious, and the gay couple is pretty funny too. Why wasnt it new this week?

Cougartown is also on the Wed pm agenda, but its just so-so. Parts of it make me laugh, but I find myself getting bored with it every now and then.

The Real World: Washington DC. LOVE IT! Obviously the main reason I love it is because we LOVE DC and know and have walked around and eaten and seen all of the places that they are living and working at. The girls in this house all seem to be really disturbed though...like they are all on the verge of suicide and/or self-mutilation. Wait, does suicide count as a form of self-mutilation? Anyway, that one boy Andrew is weird though, and a little TOO weird, you know? Being weird is ok, but its like he tries to be SO weird all of the time that he cant be anything BUT way weird. I dont typically like those kind of people...

The Millionaire Matchmaker is back for another season. Do you like Patti without bangs? I am undecided. I do like this show, but I feel like she is getting a little too big for her britches...like she thinks she is uberfamous right now. That is annoying. I SO want a job in her office so I would get the opportunity to rate girls who came in and wanted to be set up on a date. How fun would that be?

Tuesday is the BEST DAY EVER!

I propose that Tuesday be elected the best day of the week. Because it is pretty awesome! Why? 2 shows: Biggest Loser and Lost.

I do have to say that Biggest Loser is lacking something this season. Maybe it is because Jillian is now trainer/counselor?? Why does she think she can break everyone down and try to find out why they are 700 pounds? It is NO secret...they like food. There. Mystery solved. How much do you HATE Michael right now? The week that he split the teams into GIRLS (plus Sam) vs. BOYS I was soooo mad at him! I cant stand him and hope that once anyone gets the opportunity to send him home, they do. I really like Sam and Koli, and the dark headed girl. I still do not like Shay and I hate when I see them talking about what she is doing now. I hate that Subway gave her a deal. Yuck.

LOST!!! I cant even go in to how AWESOME, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING, PHENOMENAL, EXCITING, and FIERCE this season has been! And next week we find out about Richard Alpert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough said...

We also watch the 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom shows that come on MTV on Tuesday nights. I missed this weeks, but was APPALED at last week's episode with the girl from South Dakota. Did you see that text message her babys daddy wrote????? It was horrendous!!!!! I hope he really got beat up for that. And, shout out to SD and Sanford Hospital, where we used to live and work!!! AJ had even worked with the doctor who delivered her...and he said she was hot and that the camera didnt do her justice. hahhaha Out of all of the teen moms, this SD girl was by far the most responsible and respectable. Call it SD values maybe?

90210 is FINALLY back..and newsflash!!! Annie got rid of her ridiculously LONG and mangey extensions!!!! Thank goodness! She has significantly less hair and it looks so much better. That was the most interesting thing that happened...this one is on the verge of being dropped.

See how good I am getting? I am willing to let certain shows go if they are lame! That is a HUGE step for me!

Monday

Confession: We stopped watching 24. I know! I cant believe it either. We honestly tried REALLY HARD to like it this season. I still am feeling bad about dropping it, but it had to be done. I do still love Jack Bauer, and will always remember how he is the one who taught me to NEVER negotiate with terrorists.

What does that mean in my life? AJ and I have consciously decided that if either of us were ever held captive by a bad person, and that person claimed that he would kill/harm us or someone we love if we didnt do ______ (fill that in with whatever)we wouldnt do it. More often than not, they are LYING in one way or another and will kill you anyway. RISK IT. WORTH IT. Thanks, JB.

Intervention is still on Mondays, and we are still LOVING it!! Actually, just this week my sister pointed out to me that TLC has a new show that copies Intervention that is called "Addicted". Should be good, and I will watch for sure. It starts next week, I believe.

Gossip Girl! Gotta love it. But what was freaking up with the whole NO NEW EPISODES from November to March??? Seriously, new eps just started back last week! I feel sort of lost in all the drama...I am thinking GG is losing its savor, but, I will continue to DVR and not give up on it just yet. What was up with Hilary Duff being Dans girlfriend, and the threesome? WEIRD. Vanessa is still gross, too.

How I Met Your Mother: same as always...but I SOOO wanted Rachel Bilson to be the mom. I strive daily to dress more like Lily (but find I cannot afford it whatsoever).

OK, we had been watching My Life As Liz on MTV. I hope you watched, because we seriously LOVED this show!!! Liz was so cute with her red hair and weirdness, and I also want to be like her in some ways. I really hope it comes back for another season, but I am not sure if it even can...I mean, it was about her high school life, and she graduated. She moved to NYC just when she and Bryson were going to get together!!!!

Kell on Earth...OH, how I tried to resist this one on Bravo. I couldnt! Just knowing that this show was somehow, distantly connected to my forever beloved LC and Whitney, I had to watch! I really, really dont like that one girl employee with the gross blonde hair that thinks she runs the place. She needs to like learn to deal...she seems so stressed out over the littlest things! And I think it is funny/gross that Kelly obviously LOVES dudes with long, dark hair. Gross.

Chuck. PSYCH! We dropped Chuck like a bad habit this season! I did like the idea of him knowing kung fu, but over all, I just got BORED with it. And, hello, my life isnt ALL about TV! hahahhahahha

Sunday

Sundays are slow days, for the most part. Sometimes AJ works Sundays, sometimes he doesnt.
Our Sunday schedule is usually as follows:
Wake Up
Eat Breakfast (usually just AJ because I am not a big breakfast person)
Shower and get ready for church (new church time 11AM= AWESOME!)
Church (we teach 12-13 year old Sunday School now!)
Eat Lupper (lunch/supper)
Eat more because we are bored and hungry
Write in journals (our newest "enhancing our Sunday" activity)
Watch TV until we feel like sleeping

Now, on to the important stuff...what are watching on Sundays:
Gangland*
Lockdown*
*these shows are ALWAYS on reruns Sunday afternoon/evening
Tool Academy
Desperate Housewives (DVR for me to watch later in the week)
sometimes Simpsons and sometimes Family Guy

Guiliana and Bill
various skanked out E! shows (you know what they are)

Let's talk Tool Academy:
This season of Tool Academy has been, well, strange. Why? They invited a lesbian couple AND allowed a GIRL to be in with the guys as a TOOL. It just makes the guy dynamic weird for girls to live in their Tool House (or Tool shed??hahaha).

I have to say, the couple that I feel the worst for is the actual married couple...I mean, that dude is so rude and just really seems to not care at all. Same with Ginovecia (the girl tool)...she just doesnt seem to care at all. Once again, we leave feeling sorry for the girls who have no self-esteem to walk away from these guys.

I do have to say that the tool who went home last week...cant remember his "tool" name, but, he was actually pretty funny.

My prediction: The tool who looks like a perfect mix between Mario and Luigi will win.

I have really loved Style's new show about Guiliana and Bill Rancic. I love that he lives in Chicago (LOVE CHICAGO!) and just really like them as a couple. It has been interesting to watch them try out all of these infertility treatments because AJ and I are about at that same point...so I am letting her try everything out and then she can let me know (we are NOT considering any invasive treatments at the moment, just FYI). Will she try IVF, will she not try IVF? I bet she will. Seems like Bill really wants her to. And why did her assistant quit? That was weird. And the lack of explanation was very odd.
