Holiday! Celebrate!

Tomorrow (Thursday) is my last day of work in Delaware! YAAAYY!! I couldnt be more excited, because that means the next day (Friday) is NOT ONLY my birthday (22nd) but my sis Natalie is coming to town to visit me! Double YAAYY!! But we are not just hanging out in Delaware, oh no! We are headed to NYC to hop on a double decker bus tour (SOO excited for that!) and going to see Wicked. And then we are going outlet shopping. And then we are going to DC. And its going to be awesome. I cant wait!

Did I mention how adorable my niece Ray J is? She is the cutest.

See? I told you.

So how about Biggest Loser finale? I wasnt surprised that Michael won, but I was disappointed because I really dont like him. And what was up with those PANTS he was wearing? They were so freaking tight, and he is still very large, and it looked like he was wearing a diaper. Those were straight up diaper pants. Gross. And that belt buckle just drew more attention to that area. No!

And my ten votes obviously didnt help Koli, either. But I was glad he won the at home challenge. Even though he acted really weird after he won. He must have social anxiety disorder.

New LOST theory that I think is the right one (at least for now): They all went to the island, but DIED when the H-bomb blew up, and Juliet said "it worked"...because that is exactly when that whole sideways world started!

The End

Last night was the end of a very significant period of my life. The LOST era. Is that strange to define eras in my life by TV shows? Whatever. I dont care.

Would you believe that I dismissed the first season of LOST (before even seeing an episode) based solely on the previews? I thought that it looked too much like an "alien" themed show, and I am SO not into aliens (I dont even like that alien movie that everyone loved with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix--what was it called again?).

So, I didnt watch the first season of LOST. That is, until I got obsessed with Blockbuster Online (similar to Netflix, but used to be so much better) and rented anything and everything I could get my hands on. One day, we decided to watch LOST. It was awesome. Even more awesome is that when you watch it on DVD, you can watch as many episodes in a row, no commercials, no stopping. And so in a little more than 24 hours, we had watched the first season, and we were addicted. That was in 2005.

We have had many watch groups over the course of the 6 seasons...LOST is so much better enjoyed in a group. And DVR is a MUST. Pause. "WTH just happened?" We have lived in 3 different states and lived in 6 different apartments since the beginning.

Needless to say, I was sad to see it end.

But WHAT?! Jack died? Everyone is happy and together again? I cried at least 3 times. Jen and Sun are finally together! And, naturally, nothing made me happier than seeing Des and Penny together! So many wonderful moments, but I have to admit, part of me was a little disappointed.

Why did they not answer more about the Island's mysterious properties, or how it came to be?

I suppose it was about the people all along. And, boy, was it AH-MAZING!

My summation of what happened: The plane really did crash, and their lives (crazy as they were) on the island were all real and actually DID happen. However, Jack never got off of the island, as some people did. They all died (whether on the island or back at home)and were all waiting for each other to die before moving on (like Christian explained to Jack). And, like they sort of explained, their sideways lives were the lives in between dying and "moving on."

RIP LOST. You will be missed.

PS: I have already watched the 2 1/2 hour finale 2 1/2 times. It gets better every time!

AA Meeting for Cougartown Residents

I have been watching Cougartown this season. It is ok, I like Courtney Cox, I love Jordan from Scrubs (never remember her name), and I think the comedy is sometimes really funny. It definitely isnt great, but it is watch-able. However, I realized something this week that really upset me. The entire cast of Cougartown, excluding the underage son, are CONSTANTLY drinking! Think about it...EACH AND EVERY scene has them drinking wine or beer, depending on where they are. EVERY SCENE!! Geez louise, lushes! Now, I know that I dont drink, but I have plenty of friends who do, and none of them have to have a drink in their hands at all times (thankfully, otherwise I would have to go all Jeff Van Vonderen on them). Seriously, Cougartown...try some water or diet coke for hydration!

I also got a chance this week to watch a few new episodes of Kendra on E. I know, I used to really not like her in The Girls Next Door...but she is seriously likable now! Surprisingly, she seems really down to earth and not as weird and skanky as she seemed when she was in the Playboy house. Plus, I was inspired to want to buy her new workout video. It seemed very Tae-bo-esque, and yall know I love my TaeBo.

Under-rated and Often Forgotten Movie of the Moment: The Craft. Used to be one of my favorite movies, but I had totally forgotten about it until E decided to put it on TV tonight! Yay!

Again with the Crystals

Really, Spencer and Heidi? Crystals all over the place? Get over it. Heidi is now officially a brainwashed freak.

Does anyone else hate Olivia on The City? Geez she is so rude and pretentious! She thinks she can just do whatever she wants and totally disregards everyone else. It is really annoying.

So, have you voted yet? For Koli on Biggest Loser? If not, do it now! I have already voted the NBC online max of 10 times. Darus doesnt deserve to make it to the final 3 when he freaking GAINED 2 lbs! I was never a Darus fan anyway, but after that...and then him not wanting to admit that he pigged out every night at home, made me want Koli to win even more. It will be tough for him to beat Michael and Ashley, though. They just have SO much to lose!

And, um, Lost was freaking AWESOME last night! Jack is going to be the new Jacob? Check. Ben is an evil, smoke monster enthusiast? Check. Sawyer gives more annoying one liners? Check. But my question (well, one of my questions) is this: Can Richard Alpert die? Because it sure did look like the Smoke Monster killed him last night, but I thought Richard was ageless/timeless?? Doesnt matter...the finale is definitely going to be the most amazing 2 1/2 hours of tv since the Saved by the Bell Wedding made for tv movie.

SO I watched a few episodes of True Life the other night. One of them was the True Life "I am a Newlywed." One of the girls on there sort of annoyed me. It was the one who had had the long distance relationship with her fiance, and then she got married and moved 11 hours away from her family. And then she complained about it. She was sad because she missed her family (Boo hoo--no sympathy at all). She was upset that he had debt that she didnt know about. She was irritated that his house wasnt clean. She was angry that he didnt eat at regular times and wouldnt go to bed at 8oclock like the suggested. Geez louise, lady. Get a grip! Nothing like being a Debbie Downer!

And my wonderful beautiful niece was born today! Reagan Jo, or Ray-J as she will be known to me. I cant wait to see her in a little over a month!

FYI: Robinhood is NOT the new Gladiator

I hope this reaches you in time, because the new Robinhood movie is LAME. Do not waste your time or money. I have voiced in the past my disdain for Victorian Era/ Royalty-ridden movies with accents all over the place, and this definitely is exactly that type of movie.

Oh, and it isnt even about stealing from the rich and giving to the needy. Not even a little bit. And it doesnt even hold a candle to Gladiator.

On a happy note, the beach was amazing today!

Finales are Coming Soon.

I am so not excited about the finales of both Biggest Loser and LOST that are looming in the near future. I think BL is done this week!

I was so sad to see Sam go last week, but how awesome was it that he is now dating Stephanie?! Love that! And now its Koli, Daris, Ashley, and Mike left. You all know how I feel about Mike. He is such a baby. He doesnt work hard. "We had makeover week and I still had to shop at a Big and Tall store!" Um, YEAH Michael. You were over 500 pounds. Of course you still have to shop at a big and tall store, GET OVER IT! He and Shay need to get together and just complain about everything. And then eat cupcakes. I really would be ok with anyone other than Michael winning, although deep down I really want Koli to win!

I assume you know already that the finale of LOST was extended from 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours! So many things to clear up, you know, they just had to extend it. I did read the Entertainment Weekly that was all about LOST (awesomeness!), and it says that we will get answers in the finale, but also may leave feeling like they didnt just give us the answers. Whatever that means. I am excited!

I havent yet posted (or have I? I dont remember) about one of my new favorite shows, 9 By Design, on BRAVO. I want to have 7 kids (most or all adopted, of course) and name them the exact same names as their kids. And I wish I had even ONE creative, artistic bone in my body so I could design my awesome apartment in Boston half as good as they do.

We are off to see Robinhood tonight (AJ has been so excited because he seems to think that its going to be 'awesome' just like Gladiator. I am indifferent). Then, BEACH TOMORROW!

Movies and Such

While in California, we went to see some movies. The first was City Island, a sort of "indie" film that wasnt in major theaters--so of course, it wasnt available in Newark Delaware. So we took advantage of being in San Diego by going to a small theater showing the movie. And we were glad we did, because the movie was actually pretty hilarious. Andy Garcia (who was so funny!), Juliana Margolies (who looked VERY skinny BTW), and a few other actors you would recognize. We were happy that we went.

And of course, we went to see Iron Man II on opening night. Neither of us are crazy Ironman fans, but we surprisingly really enjoyed the first one, so we thought "Why not?" I liked it better than AJ, and it was still pretty good. I do just love Robert Downey Jr. I do!

Have you watched Tough Love Couples? It is better than the original Tough Love! Last night's episode was hilarious.

Spencer P. and the crystals? WTFreak.

California Trip May 2010

ClICK ON THE PICTURE TO GO TO MY PICASA ALBUM FOR THE REST OF THE PHOTOS

What A Difference A Year Makes

One year ago today, AJ went from being AJ, the medical student, to AJ, the doctor. That was just the beginning of the craziness of activities we have had this last year.

While on vacation this past week (California...AMAZING--pics to be posted in a sec)we reflected on the things we have done in just one year. We have travelled the country, driving from South Dakota to Alabama, then from Alabama to Delaware. In all, we have visited these cities (some of them more than once) in the last year: St. Louis, New York City, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Panama City, Birmingham, Boston, San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago...plus a few smaller cities along the way.

Needless to say, it has been a very fun, eventful year for us. Now only a few more weeks until we move to Boston for good! Did I tell you we found the most ah-mazing apartment in the best location? Because we did.
