No Party Like a Liz Lemon Party

"Aint no party like a Liz Lemon party cause a Liz Lemon party is...MANDATORY." Thank goodness the Thursday night NBC shows were FINALLY new again after a one month hiatus. 30 Rock even had 2 new episodes! I try to listen intently as Jack's red-headed girlfriend talks because I need to get some of that Boston lingo. haha So far, all I can incorporate into my normal convo is "wicked."

"In my foster home, my hair was my room." So hilarious, Erin on The Office. Although I really dont like that she is so mad at Andy now. And what, Michael was the normal one at lunch that day? I want them to bring back the lady in the bar or wherever that seemed to like "Date Mike."

Project Runway winner: Seth Aaron! Yay! I sort of wanted Emilio to win (before seeing his final runway collection). I was a little disappointed in all of the designers Fashion Week collection...none of them 'wowed' me (and you know I have such a qualified eye for those things). I did like Emilio's print with his own logo that he made a few weeks ago, but he really didnt risk it in the end.

This weekend we celebrated our 6th Anniversary! How did we celebrate? By chillaxing and watching movies all day, getting takeout Qdoba, buying some books from Barnes and Noble (I got Chelsea Handlers latest), and eating dessert. Our real anniversary trip isnt until next week when we go to San Diego for a week, then head straight to Boston for 3 days!

All of the Good Stuff

First things first...Lost and Biggest Loser. So, what is Jack thinking? Could Jack really be the new Jacob? Will the new Locke be able to get off of the island (I dont think he will be able to leave). I, of course, LOVE LOVE LOVED the Jen and Sun reunion! And she can talk again because of love! Of course she can! Only 4 more eps to the finale, and so many unanswered questions...

I was so mad at both Jillian and Bob this week on Biggest Loser. I hated how they were like "Koli you disgust me for eating all of that food to save Sam. Sam doesnt even need to be here anymore." I mean, YES, Sam is skinny now. But just because he worked hard and is actually succeeding, its time for everyone to vote him off because they are fatter than him? I think not! The trainers should never try and get involved or try to sway the voting decisions...remember with Shay last season? That is one of the main reasons I hate Shay. Uhhh. I hate that Subway is giving her free sandwiches.

So, 16 and Pregnant had its second season finale (followed by the reunion)this week. As depressing as this show is, I just love it. I want to buy the series to show to my future kids to scare them. None of the relationships work out, and if they sort of do, its not worth saving. I feel bad for the mothers trying to make it work with their rude little 17 year old boyfriends. Such a good show. I still am in disbelieft by the text message that the one boyfriend sent to the South Dakota girl that called his baby "that mistake."

Why isnt Jen going to go home on Fresh Meat? It sure looked like she hit that other girl to me! And I hate how girls all of a sudden get so "ghetto" throwing their hands in the air and cussing and yelling and wanting to fight. Who fights? Gross. I am still loving that Kenny's alliance is falling apart without his beloved followers Evan and Johnny Bananas there. I do have to say, I was quire impressed with Paula's performance on the challenge, but I still dont like her. Remember on the Real World how she picked her scabs?

So all of the ladies are now fighting with Ramona on Real Housewives...blah blah blah, same old stuff. And now they have added the new cougar to the bunch. I do think its funny that the old lady had already been out with Kelly's date. You know that just irked Kelly to no end!

I am trying to get caught up on Jerseylicious, but, honestly, dont know if I care enough to take the time to watch it. I will keep it on my DVR for a backup when nothing else is on. The big hair I just do not understand. How do they not know that the only reason people watch it is to make fun of them and the way they talk?

SO excited for the new and last season of The Hills starting Tuesday!

Hang Man

Hang Man is a great way to pass time. I, as a Sunday School teacher, sometimes use Hang Man in my classroom as a way to fill in my time when my lesson is not long enough (dont tell). I think kids play Hang Man at church to make time go by faster. It keeps them quiet. Which is exactly what the Dad sitting next to us at Stake Conference was doing with his son this past Sunday...playing Hang Man to keep his kid occupied and quiet. Great idea, right? Sure. I looked over and saw the solved puzzled that the son had made his Dad fill in:
"Can we please leave now?" I died laughing. Then, I looked over a little while later, and the son (probably about 8 years old) had written a longer paragraph that said "When I woke up this morning, my Dad asked me if I wanted to go to church. I said 'YES' but my brain said 'NO.'"

Needless to say, he kept us thoroughly entertained during Stake Conference (where Neil Anderson was attending--he was hilarious!).

Since we had already travelled downstate for church, we figured we would continue the drive to the coast and frolick on the beach for a little while before heading home. It was a beautiful day and we love the beach!

Yankees Game

One of the perks of living in Delaware is being so close to everywhere OUTSIDE of Delaware...I think I have said that many times before. We thoroughly enjoy driving up and down the East coast to do fun things. One of those fun things that we knew we needed to do before we moved to Boston was go see a game at Yankee Stadium. And Saturday, we did just that. It was awesome, and even though I really cant stand the Yankees, being in their park when they are winning is pretty sweet. And I maybe cheered a little bit. We also got to see the torn-down old stadium, which was cool.

How Could I Forget?

How could I forget to mention Biggest Loser in my Tuesday night TV rant? I am so over the blue shirt new girl and want her to go home. I was totally indifferent to Drea going home (isnt it easier to call them by their colors??). Now it is getting down to the final few. I am first and foremost for Sam and Koli, and then I am for Sunshine. I really think Sunshine might win it all, and, afterall, Suze Orman said so.

I really tried this week to watch Tori Spelling's show about her family on Oxygen. I just couldnt do it. She is really annoying and just uninteresting.

I fell asleep at the very end of Fresh Meat this week, but I do think I remember that Kenny was sent in to the Inferno (or whatever they call the challenge at the end). Ha Ha Ha is all I can say. I really am not a Kenny fan. He thinks he is really cute and popular and is very cocky about it all. But Ev with peanut butter all over her? Gross.

I have yet to watch this week's Jerseylicious...AJ "accidentally" deleted it because he "thought I had watched it already." Yeah, right. He hates it. Almost as bad as Real Housewives (also havent watched this week's yet).

Is anyone else excited about watching Hilary Duff in the ABC Family movie Beauty and the Briefcase? It sort of looks good.

I am dying to rent The Time Traveler's Wife...BUT I know it is going to be so sad and I will be mad because I hate sad movies (with the exception of A Walk To Remember and Beaches). But I love Rachel McAdams and for some reason am really interested whenever I see the preview on tv.

Last weekend when we went to Date Night (waste of time),I saw previews for the new movie with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd (love him!). It looks HILARIOUS and I am really, really hoping it isnt rated R! Paul Rudd works for an company that basically invites weirdos over for dinner just to watch them be weird with other weirdos. Seriously, it's funny.

Speaking of weirdos, I read a story from BYU news about a guy who was obsessed with dating someone in his ward (church) that he home taught. He was 24, she was like 18. She was not interested. Instead of admitting defeat and moving on, he was waiting for her when she got home from work one day. She used the side door when she saw him waiting at the front. He saw her and went over to the side door and convinced her that he had an elaborate "gift" for her downstairs in the laundry room. Reluctantly, she went with him to the empty laundry room. On the floor was a big box/chest. He wanted her to open the chest because that is where the scavenger hunt he had prepared just for her began (??). After refusing over and over again, she finally bent down to open the box, and he TAISED her. Then he handcuffed her. She bit him, shocked him into the reality of what he was doing, and he ran away. Loser.

Team Jacob vs. Team Smoke Monster

No, I am not referring to Team Jacob that is associated with Twilight. In case you didnt know, I loathe Twilight. I am of course referring to LOST! Awesomeness! So, honestly, I sort of dig the new John Locke/Man in Black/Smoke Monster. He is just honest, and I like that. What I DIDNT like was when he pushed my #1 Man Desmond into the well last night. Not cool at all. However, I do think he may, in some twisted way, be helping him. We shall see. And now we know that the alternate universe isnt really "alternate" because it is happening, and the island stuff has happened too! I love that they can remember what happened if they are linked with right person. Why Desmond had to run over Locke with the car, I dont know. It was awesome, though.

I was on a sort of computer hiatus for the last week because our computer was nearly overtaken by viruses. I blame it on all of the (illegal?) TV I watch online. I just cant wait for Friday Night Lights to be on NBC, ok? I HAVE to watch it early from a shady website taped from directv! BTW, if you havent seen this new season of FNL, get ready! It is more amazing than ever! And they brought in new characters seamlessly.

We have been busy and will continue to be pretty busy the rest of the summer. This last weekend marked our (probably) last weekends in DC and at the Temple there. We love it there and will be so sad that we cant just run down to DC, go to the temple, shop in Georgetown, have dinner, and come home all in a day. We ARE looking forward to living even CLOSER to the temple in Boston! Yay!

I did of course watch FreshMeat and it needs to be discussed! It just doesnt feel the same without Evan along with Kenny, but the drama is definitely going to escalate. There are way too many girls kissing both girls and guys, though. What is up with that?

Whose side are you on, Bethennyss or Jills? This last episode made me sort of think that I am on Bethennys side because she is at least TRYING to smooth things over. Their drama is wearing old on me, though. Yes, obviously I have still been watching because I cant stop.

I have the TV on right now while I am blogging, and House of Pain is on (hate Tyler Perry) but Rudy from the Cosby Show is on there! Go Rudy!

Time

Time is flying by! Do you realize that in, like, 8 weeks I will be living in Boston? I have to work on my wicked accent! Awesome. We are so excited, and now everyone here (work included) knows that we are moving, so I can talk openly about how great and wonderful and exciting it is going to be--once I find my perfect little Boston pad that is amidst all of the smarty pants Harvard kids. A few weeks ago when we were there, we were on the T with the Harvard football team. Instead of talking about girls, or partying, or sports, they were talking about how smart their mathmetician friend was and what their GPAs were. Seriously. That happened.

So much TV has happened this week. The winner of Tool Academy! I did not want it to be that guy...I wanted the Cry Baby tool guy. I love when the guys get so excited because they "graduate" Tool Academy, and they say they havent ever graduated from anything before. Sad.

Breaking Bad. Hate the wife, right? I mean, she needs to at least give Walt some sort of pass because SHE was the one who forced him to take cancer treatment, and he just tried to make money the best way he thought possible. Granted, it was a bad decision, but she needs to get over it and be nice.

Intervention...good. Even the new show Addiction on TLC that I was excited about just isnt the same. Intervention does it right. They let the addict tell the story. It is sad and emotional and I love it.

After Intervention, a new show called Runaway Squad premiered. It is about an ex-cop who tracks down runaway kids. It wasnt as awesome as it sounds, but it was totally sad to see what some of these kids do when they are on the street.

Biggest Loser! So, the previews for BL ruined some of the show because a few weeks ago they said "and one contestant loses 200 pounds on the ranch for the first time in BL history!" Who else would that be besides HUGE Mike? And I want Mike to go home, but now I know he doesnt go home. How much do you love Sam and Koli? I hope one of them wins, but, honestly, I dont know if they have enough to lose! Pink girl and Mike and maybe Sunshine seem like they could win.

Jillian's new show? No thanks. It seems like all of the parts I dont like about Biggest Loser into one show. I will not be watching (probably).

LOST! I heart Desmond. I want a shirt that says something to that effect. However, I do not like I feel that Widmore doesnt really have anything to do with the history of the island (like Jacob and Man in Black stuff) and THAT is what I want to find out about. FYI: LOST FINALE party TBA!!!

WE LOVE THE CUBS. SOOO happy for baseball season to finally be here!

Happy Easter

Isnt it great when Easter morning is beautiful? And it is General Conference weekend (learn more about LDS General Conference here)?

Even better? A sleepy husband getting off a 24 (well, more like 26) hour shift and being surprised by my homemade attempt at recreating Hardees Omelet Biscuit. According to him, they came out beautifully. I was pretty proud of myself. Wait, did you think I meant I homemade the biscuits? I dont think so. Grands does a good job.

AJ recently showed me what happens when you google "Things To Do When You Are Bored" and the results have kept us entertained. We found this article at urban75.org and I now love it and try to think about all the things I could add to the list. This site also cleverly added the "amusement potential" and gives about how much time a particular activity can take.

Things I would add to the list (youtube can really take up some time):
1) Watch the "Evil Eye Baby" youtube video.
2) Watch the "JK Wedding Video" on youtube.
3) Watch the "Pink Glove Dance" youtube video.

Those videos make me happy and I just love watching them over and over again.

It's the Weekend!

You would seriously think that I had much more time to blog since I only work part-time...but honestly, I have so much less time! How does that work?

Anyway, it was about time for Jonathan to go home on Project Runway last night, right? I mean, he had been pretty terrible and on-the-line for a while, so he was bound to go soon. Now I have officially decided that I am for Seth Aaron (although the goth red carpet outfit last night wasnt great) OR Emilio. I loved Emilio's print from last week where he used his own logo. What was with whats her face going home so suddenly? That was weird.

We all know Lost is amazing, but this week's episode was sort of a let down. I just really dont see how they can weave the Dharma Initiative into Jacob and the man in black's existance on the Island! I mean, Widmore was only on the island because of Dharma! So how can he have something major to do with it? I really wanted the package to be Walt...I love Desmond, but whatever happened to all of that "constant" business? So many questions and only 6 more episodes for answers!!!!

Biggest Loser: I hate Mike. He annoys me and is sucha big baby. As much as I dont want to like the red lady who came back this week, I just have to love her! She is so competitive and mean-spirited!

Cant wait for the Fresh Meat Challenge to start Wednesday! And I saw new previews for The City too!! Yay!

And, just made a Lauren Conrad collection purchase from Kohls today in their honor...

Its 80 degrees here! Celebrate!
